A highly experienced corporate and mergers and acquisitions lawyer in New York City, Dyan Gershman founded Gershman Law, PLLC in 2014, and provides U.S. and international clients with a wide range of legal services in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, technology and intellectual property licensing, and equity investments. Ms. Gershman also provides legal support for general commercial matters.

In serving her clients, Dyan Gershman draws on over 25 years of experience handling complex U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions for large and small U.S. and international businesses. Ms. Gershman is fluent in French, and conversant in Italian, and has substantial experience working with international clients.

Dyan Gershman began her legal career in the New York City office of the internationally renowned global law firm Jones Day. During her nine years at Jones Day, she represented large and mid-sized U.S. and international businesses in a wide variety of corporate transactions as a member of the firm’s corporate group.

Following Jones Day, Dyan Gershman gained significant additional corporate law experience working at two Fortune 50 multinationals in executive-level roles. She served as head of M&A and corporate law worldwide for Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) at its worldwide headquarters in New York City, and, following four years at BMS, Dyan Gershman joined General Electric Company (GE) at its worldwide headquarters in Fairfield, Connecticut, as an executive leading many of GE's largest and most strategic acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures, a role she held for more than eight years. During her time at GE, Ms. Gershman led many complex international multi-billion dollar transactions and her performance earned her the prestigious CEO Award. At Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ms. Gershman also led many M&A and corporate transactions, from small and mid-sized deals to multi-billion dollar acquisitions and divestitures, and was awarded the President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement, the company’s highest honor.

Dyan Gershman studied law at Boston College Law School where she was an Executive Editor of the Boston College Law Review, and graduated cum laude. She received her undergraduate degree in liberal arts and sciences (comparative literature) from Colorado College with highest distinction. Dyan Gershman was awarded the coveted Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, which supported a yearlong graduate study of French architectural historic preservation in Paris.
